"What I want Obama to say about gay marriage" →

I don’t always link fox news, but when I do, it doesn’t suck. This hypothetical Obama speech by Sally Kohn is pretty brilliant, and I have to agree with her. I wish Obama had come down like a hammer on this one and addressed the things that this speech does about same-sex marriage. I’m glad Obama finally is open about his support for marriage equality, but I don’t think his relatively small statement that he opened with the disclaimer “in my opinion” did a very good job of explaining anything but his personal opinion. What’s important to me, and should be important to America are the concrete reasons why he supports it, and why America should support it as a democratic nation that supposedly holds certain unalienable rights to be self evident. Way to be slow on the uptake ‘mericuh.
